Dav just has to bring the rock skis and then he can do them all.
I mean he is sponsored for something. Then let's also use those suckers!

    GO DAV!!!

In a normal snow year, several of them should be easy. Whitney, Langley, Shasta to name a few. I am sure some of them are going to be real bears to ski from the summit. Does it count to rappel with skis on?

Quite a feat to knock out all the 14'ers in WA

    middle pal last weekend:

split could be one of the easier ones of the group:

then there's white, thats gonna be a long hike in winter. tyndal's north slope (north rib route) may ski just fine.

good luck to him, i hope he comes - id like to see what he can do out here, should be exciting.

Does Williamson still have those ridiculous access restrictions? A few years back, I remember the only access allowed was the last two weeks of December and something like mid apr - mid may being the only open windows.

Never did figure out why. ?

Isn't this the Mtn'eers route on Whitney? If not, it looks very similar.

its the st. jeans couloir on split, same as here:

    this was april '05

    whitney's mtneers route:

    march '04

yes williamson has those closures, bighorn sheep:
"The Bighorn Sheep Zoological Preserve encompasses an area bordering the east face of Mount Tyndall and stretches east about 4 miles. This area is only open from December 15 to July 15. This means that Shepherd Pass can be used to access Williamson for only half of the year. The entire south face of Williamson has its own restrictions. It is only open only two months of the year: December 15 - January 1 and April 15 - May 15." (from summitpost)

I'm sure CA 14ers have thier allure but c'mon Dav, step it up and knock off the AK 14ers. There's a worthy project. Bona, University, Sanford (my personal fav), not to mention Denali (both summits).

The restrictions you mention are only for George Creek. All other approaches are open from December 15 through July 15.

Nice pics Jeffmoore. Were you on the Thumb last weekend? How was the skiing?

Give him time. I'm sure he's got a bigger "to do" list than he wants to let everybody know about right away. Who wouldn't want to ski Denali?

nice pics, but why no skis in those pics? the moutaineer's route is a fun ski...even late in the season (i hit it up in may '03). seems such a pity to hike all that way when there's snow & not ski it.

hans florine hiked all the CA 14'ers in 3.5 days (*hiked*... in the summer). he hiked 7 of them from car to car in 24h.

i wish, no skiing on any of these hikes. seems the guys i hike with dont ski, neither of them, though one has recently decided to go for it. we've done some tahoe bc descents but nothing in the southern sierra. soon.
i was up on the thumb last weekend (good eye), it was great to be out there, the southeast slope had fairly good coverage (for this season) i think:

I hope he doesn't try a first decent of St. ELias although its a totally sick route everyone who tried has had a member of their party die, other than that dav should step up and ski the real 14ers not just the 5000 vert 14ers but the ones that start at 700 feet asl
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care
