Steve, you are starting to look hot! 35 lbs to pure sizzle. Git er dun!!!

I have been reading a lot about calorie restriction. It's basically the only means yet proven scientifically to extend the quality and quantity of life. Here's a recent article: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/hea...,4355565.story

I think I'm on board with this. Staying under 2000 calories per day. Trying to figure out how to get down to 1500 for the long term.

Right now now I weigh 127 with a BMI around 19.5. I would like to get my BMI to 18, with a steady body fat at 10%. I guess I would weigh around 120. Just ordered a tanita scale that measure body fat with impedance...

YES! Missed this one the first time around.

I need to lose 10-15 lbs. I was 5'8" and 125lbs. Since I was confined to a cubicle for the last year, I have gained 20 lbs. I needed to gain a bit of weight, but not THAT much.

I have one month before my final dress fitting. I need to lose at least 10 lbs. and tone a few areas. The real challenge is that I need to do it while we are on the road.

Part of the contest should include a weigh-in a couple months after the official end date. Losing weight ain't much use if you just put it back on again.

I was going to weigh into this thread early on but I didn't own a scale and thought it rather pointless because of that fact. In early August Mrs. Beaver came home with a lovely piece of spring loaded weighing apparatus. I stepped on and confirmed my feeling that I could stand to dump some weight. I'm 6'1" (and a little) and compressed the spring to 208 lbs (or thereabouts depending on the day and time). So I figured time to do something about it. Just by happenstance I had lots of time to play in August so I rode my ass off so to speak. That combined with limiting beer intake to approx 3/week I dropped 12 lbs with ease in about 2 weeks. Then I went on vacation for a couple weeks in late August/early September and the barley consumption increased thereby eliminating further losses. Last week I got serious about it again and have dropped to 193 lbs as of this morning. My goal was 188 but I have revised that to 185 just as a nice round number. I am now finding it harder to shed poundage now that the days are shorter and I'm not getting out on my bike as much as I was. I've reduced my food consumption but have no idea how many calories I eat per day. I still hit the chocolate stash for a few pieces of dark high quality imported chocolate more or less daily (I'm an addict and don't want to stop) but I forgo the constant snacking that I used to do. I am surprised at the difference in energy shedding a few pounds can make.

i have no idea how much i weigh now. i didnt gain any significant weight since the challenge ended, but im not sure if i ever reached my goal of 155. last time i checked i was hovering around 158, but that was like 3 weeks ago.

with the move to CO i really haven't been able to get to the gym. went for physical therapy 3x a week, but thats more like strength training rather than weight loss. and now that im in CO, and w/o a positive cash flow, joining a gym out here isnt a top priority.

i did check out the 24 hour fitness center (what an awesome concept, a gym thats open 24/7!!), and had a nice workout tonight, but the altitude and lack of water really kicked my ass.

anyway, im out of this next contest, i think. but ill definitely be checking the thread.

I am sad in my pants.

I got my tanita scale and gained weight - or at least it says so compared to my old scale. Weight = 131 with a %BF = 22. I've got a longer way to go to reach my goals than I thought. It is so freaking hard to cut calories and lose weight at this point.

11 lbs - get off me!

crap! i might have to be in this thing after all.

classes start october 15th. every chef's/cook's advice to me so far has been "taste taste taste". this could be very good, but also very very bad. hahaha

I'm in one of the best habits/routines I've been in since I was...well, never. I have a bit more to go and I'm proud of how far I've come, but I'd be into this 2nd challenge till Thanksgiving.

I should post some before and after pics....or maybe wait till December 1st.

    Well done Steve!!

You certainly have done awesome in your quest ... keep up the good work!!

After a several week-long extravaganza into the world of liquid self-indulgence, I'm back to working out at 6 in the morning and again in the evenings if I'm feeling so inclined.

I'd just like to give props to all the unfat challengers this go-round.

I just hopped in the scales and determined that I will need another unfat challenge. Maybe a post-holiday season/post baby being born (December 4th) challenge.

    Anybody else interested?
