We did our last move with the wife 9 months preggers, and me just out of the sling for a broken collar bone. Two weeks after moving in our second was born. We dodged the bullet on that one. Sounds like all is going well, good luck and congrates. Being a dad is sooooo cooool.

Congrat- it sounds like Liam just needs to do some feeding and growing, which he's good at! You probably won't want to ski next weekend at Snowbowl

When our 2 year old was born it involved a flight for life and the knowledge that he might not be able to breath when born. Kid was in NICU for 3 days and I felt like the luckiest Dad in the world when I compared his condition to the other kids in there even though I knew he would have lung surgery in the next few days. Today, if it meant I would have a different kid I wouldnt change a thing.

To get through it all I poured all I had into my wife and kid. On second thought dont follow that advice you'll get stuck cleaning the house from there on out. Congrats and pay attention every day cuz it goes quick.

It is hard having your newest addition in the NICU but those folks really are the best. My little guy was in there as well although he only stayed for 24 hours.

He will be with you soon enough and then the real adventure begins.

    have fun and enjoy it.
The NICU is a scary place to be. My little sister was in there for a while when she was born, but the staffers and doctors were first notch. Hope all goes well. ++++++++

    Ah, breastfeeding....those were the days.
Got a daughter born 8 weeks early who spent 17 days in NICU. Hang in there all of you. +++vibes.

(My daughter is now 11 and a straightliner....she doesn't want to turn because, "I go faster in a straight line dad, duh."

Thanks to all who care out there and send their best wishes. The sharing of other stories keep me in perspective. There is one poor mom in the NICU who's baby is about half the size as ours and she has been there for 5 weeks already. Liam is doing awesome he feeds like a champ, he gained a whole ounce yesterday (despite taking a shit half his size) and is off his IV. They won't release him until Monday so we have to hang tough until then. Thanks again for all your support and good vibes. Wish I could post pictures (since he is the most beautiful baby ever) but we left the USB link at home.

    That's fantastic.

Enjoy the shit. It's one of the three things they do for the first three months -- eat, sleep, and excrete.

    At month four, everything changes.

Much prayers and positive vibes to you my brother and your family. I hope that things continue to go well as I know they will. We had to readmit our second born boy due to high levels of the jaundice and low oxygen levels, they had a mask over him and hooked up to all these wires, oxygen tubes, and under these lights. I had just come to visit, as I was taking care of our 2 year old, and the second I saw him I just burst into tears. It's so unbelievably difficult to go through times like these, but like someone said above, these things are fairly common and the kids have a way of pulling through and generally the doctors just have to ere on the cautious side. The good news is that the little dude pulled through and he's going to be 6 months old in a week and is doing great.

My girls (twins) were almost 13 weeks early and spent almost two months in the NICU. Tough times for sure. Now all they want to do, 8 years later, is ski trees and bumps and they are absolutely bugging out to get on their new mt bikes this spring.

Good luck Sean, Ash and Liam!!
