    Crazy F'n Week Need ++Vibes(NSR)

    Hi all! Well its been a cazy fuckin week!! The wife and I moved to Whitefish last Friday and just as we were getting finished unpacking the last couple of boxes on Sunday, Ash went into labor...5 weeks early!!! So being that our doctors were in Missoula and we hadn't yet established a new Doc in Whitefish we made the 2.5 hour drive on Sunday night down to the hospital in Missoula, and after a long and difficult labor (18 hrs in the hospital after 20 hours at home) our little guy "Liam" was born!! He had a few complications (most of which are typical of newborns esp. premature ones) so he's been stuck in the infant ICU with IV's stuck in his little arm and nurses constantly poking and prodding him. We're told he has a "possible" infection as his "numbers" indicate to the Doctor and with every day those "numbers" seem to be getting lower. We're told that he'll will need to be there for a week so we are staying at the Ronald McDonald House so that Ash can breast feed him every three hours. We've been doing well but everytime we go in there its soooooo fuckin hard to have to leave our little guy behind in such an unnatural environment (especialy when he loves to be held by Mom and Dad) and its getting very difficult for us to have to wait. So I was hoping you guys could send our little Mag some positive vibes so that he can get well soon and go home with his family. Thanks to all of you in advance and I'll post an official TR when I'm able.

    Wow! I'm sending you all many good thoughts and vibes.

    I am sorry you are going through this, but it sounds like things are under control for now. Keep us posted, and hang in there!

    I know how difficult it must be to leave your little Liam. He is in good hands though. Stay positive!

    I know what you are going through. My nephew that was born this summer was 3 months early and weighed just 2 lbs 10 oz. He was in the ICU for around a month before my brother in law could bring him home. He is healthy as can be now. I hope everything goes good for you guys.

    Congrats on the new critter...

    It is hard having your newest addition in the NICU but those folks really are the best. My little guy was in there as well although he only stayed for 24 hours.

    He will be with you soon enough and then the real adventure begins.

    have fun and enjoy it.

    Congratulations and "Welcome to the world, Liam!"

    I'm sure it's all very stressful. Hang in there.

    It sounds to me like Liam wanted to see his new home and most importantly, to be ready ASAP for some hiking/touring in the backpack so he can see his new "back yard"!! Oh, the fun you'll all have!

    Congratulations and ++++++ vibes.

    My wife went into premature labor with our first kid six weeks early, but they managed to hold it off for three. The twins were three weeks early too, and one of them was stuck in a similar situation for his first several days. Here he is at 2.5 hours old:

    And here he is last weekend, six and a half years later:

    Hang in there. This next month is going to be especially tough, between a newborn and moving. But the other side of it is going to be sweet.

    My best advice to new dads: Make sure you and your wife get as much sleep as possible. If Liam goes to sleep, you need to too; the boxes wait until you wake up. Trust me on this.

    Good luck and again, ++++++++ vibes.

    Learn from this thread. You should get some help or put the move off for a year.
    Third trimester + physical and/or emotional stress = premature labor

    Congratulations

    pubes post had me laughing. same deal with both our children (Billy Reubens)
    we had our child at home and ended up rushing him to the ICU where he spent a week. And we spent the week at the Ronald Mcdonalds. Hang in there hopefully he'll be out soon and you'll all be in Whitefish next week. About that breatfeeding, pump and freeze, you being able to feed him will insure many more powder days.
    Best wishes

    Many positive vibes/prayers on the way. My youngest was born with a pneumothorax (hole in lung). He had a chest tube placed and was a NICU baby for the first week of his life. Now he likes to ski blue groomers and all is well. Focus on the long term and know that everyone here is pulling for you.
