    HD Video Space Req's Question

For those of you that have an HD camcorder...I am queuing up this new Canon bit of magic: the Powershot TX-1

How much 1080i HD video can fit on a 8GB disk? I am only looking to shoot short clips...I am assuming 20-30mins worth of video on an 8GB card...is that right?

This thing is the size of my S400, has 10x optical zoom, and also shoots HD video...schweeet!

It all depends on the codec inside the camera. When we capture our HDV tapes onto our Xsan storage, we use the 1080i 29.97 DVCPro HD codec which is about a minute worth of footage per Gig.

Gonyo...thanks. Multiple cards may be necessary - much beefier than I was expecting.
