    Yellow Mountain Avalanche Fatality

    Thought I would post this up as I there is obviously something to learned by it. My sincere condelences to all that were close to the victim.




    The avalanche was triggered by a skier. It was 40 degrees steep at the top and the wind-loaded slab broke 1.5 feet deetp and ran 2000 feet vertical.

    Wow. Condolences to the loved ones. This post is an outstanding example of avalanche education in it's simplest and most sobering form. It would be nice to see this forum develop into a place where people regularly posted info from their own close calls/accidents so everyone can learn from them. pray for snow...
