    Where to place the bindings.

I have a pair of Zag h112 freeride skis..
The skis are very good but i have a problem with them diving i powder. I have put the bindings where they are recomendet to by(by the line on the ski)
Im now planning to move the bindings some cm back on the skis.
Can anyone recomend how many cm i should move them back?
I do not wish to ruin the allroung skills of the skis.
    Thanks.

This is the first time I've even heard of these skis and I'm not a tech, so the short answer is I don't know but I can give you my best guess.

Most people on most skis will only feel the need to move off the line 1 or 2 cm. There are some huge exceptions. Older seth's were often mounted up to 5-6cm forward of the line (if memory serves) and 05/06 lotus 138's were favoured at 3.5cm back. So, it's impossible to say but it's a fair bet you'll want to be with-in 2-3cm of the line.....but not certain.

Have you thought about putting a demo binding on them so you can search for the right mounting point without removing most of the core in 3.6mm increments? I think mntlion has some, used, for sale on gear swap. Link here.

Good luck and be sure to post a review.

Ain't the Zag originally a Frech company, no?

And the few H112's I've seen have been mounted on the line. But them skis are burly, I mean really stiff.

zag looks like they'll be making a comeback.
what distance are you currently at from the balance point of the ski to the current boot center?
i forgot to ask anatole at work today, but just emailed him a link to this thread. maybe he can explain in french, if that's your language.

It's true that the H112 is not a easy powder ski. It has be design for contest, to charge in everyday snow (not only powder).
I skied mine only in really heavy powder, and I'd say you should put the binding 3 cm behind the line. But I didn't try so I'm not sure....
The best would have been to have powder skis too

    hi

yeah think ill try 3 cm..

i do have powder skis (sanouk) and the h112 is primary for contest use and use for days with more trikcy snow.
the thing is that i really really like them on hard pack, but dont handle them in powder.. so i think i will try to find a middle way.. the norwegian freeski cup starts in two weeks and its looots of powder here right now.. and the sanouks is no good idea in bumpy contest hills i think
