i guess the thin air in colorado really does make people insane? guys with career OPS of < 700 would have a tough time being a #2 in the independent leagues. but yeah, good on him for helping beat the yanks tonight. i dig that.

Clint Hurdle should be fired. (I know no one cares about the Rox, but I had to say this) Francis has a shutout into the 8th, and has thrown SEVENTY FOUR pitches. Kid gives up a double, then gets an out. What does Hurdle do? He fucking takes him out and brings in a stiff from the BP, who promptly gives up FIVE RUNS. What the fuck? What could have possibly been going thru his head? That's definitely not the first time I've seen him do that, either. Fucking managers these days- always thinking they have to do something. Just leave him in there!

Endy Chavez Similar Batters Through Age 28 (from baseball-reference.com):

    Peanuts Lowrey (972)
    Walt Williams (965)
    Von Joshua (961)
    Wattie Holm (958)
    Johnny Wyrostek (957)
    Ping Bodie (956)
    Harry Wolter (955)
    Ted Uhlaender (954)
    Maurice Van Robays (954)
    Marlon Byrd (954)

Personally, I think he's way better than Peanuts Lowrey.

    But he's no Ping Bodie.
What are you doing at work, aside from watching MLB.com and posting here, anyway?

I'm supposed to be working, but I need to sober up a little first. Once that happens, I'm going to do a sick rule check on this S-4 and make sure it's ready to file on Monday.

O'Brien isn't terrible, and I like that he's local. But he is kinda dull. Also, Cox just came out to relieve pitcher #4, and O'Brien goes "he has to make a move here." Really? It's 12-0. I don't see why you take a guy out of game #1 of a doubleheader and thereby burn another bullpen arm.

WAY BACK! This has become a total shit-on.

More irrelevant marginal player turned baseball "analyst":

I think by sheer volume of irrelevancy, both on the field and in the booth, you've gotta give it to Whoretestes. Karros really, really sucks on the Fox pre-game though.

Great outing from Matsuzaka today. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there in the 9th, too.

Did McCarver and buck really just spend 90 seconds arguing for/against a jewelry ban in the majors??

I'm confused. An arguments suggests that both parties said something and McCarver doesn't say anything without saying 5 times in a row and that takes at least 2 and a half minutes right there. So, how could they have an argument in 90 seconds? *head hurts*
