    2-28-2007 Commuters Teaser

Powstash convinced me to meet him halfway today, up in his neck of the woods for a little roadside tour. AKA Tease The Commuters.

Powstash and Particle spent significant time last summer making a Ho Chi Min trail east coast style to the goods. It was appreciated today, making the scrub thrash a non-issue.

    Where to start?

    Fritz likes this place too.

Powstash, surveying his lay of the land.

LCC and BCC might have longer runs, but this place is dog legal, and very much a different vibe than the rah rah of the other two canyons.

Although tempting, we opted to stay alive today and not ski the windloaded higher terrain.

The skiing was not marginal. 900+ feet of continuous fall line per run. Not bad for a quirky area.

I guess this is required on TGR, so here it is.

Powstash, right above the commuters heading to SLC from Park City. Eat this, bitches!

    Powstash, heading towards the highway.

Powstash and his enterprise. This is about 3% of the available terrain within a stones throw But don't tell anyone, cause LCC is the only place with any snow.

I like it because I can ski with Fritz.

    Powstash dressing for work.

    Commuter teaser.

Powstash told me twice that you wouldn't ever ski here. Too quirky for the likes of yourself?

Will you tell me a little but about the snowpack and your choice of skiing there? I've been out of Utah for a bit but have been watching the avie conditions with bug-eyed fear. Is the death depth hoar not present over there on that N face lower el stuff? What were your slope angles over there? Wanna go for a walk with grampy-poo and I in a few days?

    Thanks

Powstash needs no words to tell the commuters what he thinks of them:

I caught those tracks on my way to work and cheered them with my coffee mug! Too bad it took until late February to make that shot skiable. Seems like there were new tracks there every month in the 05/06 season. Now back to work...

Looks really nice, and I don't mean Powstash's ass.

For the record, there wasn't any snow in LCC and I didn't ski any of it today. Or yesterday.

I think it all looks nice. Oh Yeah!

Also, BUMZ SIGHTING TODAY!! [/pre-emptive strike] I saw Powho too, but he left after one run because he was embarrassed that I didn't have funny shaped skis handmade on the island of Atlantis or something.

Wish I could make some laps like that before mooning a highway full of people going to work.

    Luv the towncountry style.

I wish we still had some going here in Boulder - we had a nice streak going for a while.

It's good to see that area finally filling in! I'll have to take the pup up there this weekend. I'm excited to try out the new "trail improvements"!

I wonder if you caused any near-accidents while commuters were transfixed on your skiing? Good stuff.
