The truth is that if you are not touring there is SFA for fresh pow inthe kootenays. February was a very dry month. About a week ago we recieved about a foot and a half but nada since. There is a high pressure moving in bringing sunshine to the southern exposures that will turn the snow to pud. The northern exposures have a surface hoar layer burried 14-16" deep that continues to release with human triggers.

The good news is that if you know where to go the snow is fresh and stable. (see my last post in the extra day thread)

You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bowstaff.

"The first in a series of Pacific disturbances is forecast to arrive Wednesday afternoon bringing light precipitation to the region. More unsettled weather should follow."

Yah baby, looks like I'll be heading home just in time to see the end of the drought. I'm being rewarded for spending the last 5 months in hell.

Still a bit yet. I'm driving down after work on the 12th for two weeks. I'm just putting in the new ultra bright halogen bulbs and aiming the headlights for the night drive. 15 hours of blasting should put me there about 6:30 am on the 13th. I think you will be at Olive then. I'll be blasting through Invermere as you sleep.

Very sweet shots Powderpyg......... Is that Moss in the first shot? Hope the snow gets better for you guys out there, the coast range is about to get some small storms through the weekend, but the forecast has shit the bed for the past two weeks, so no fingers crossed here.

Another 7 cm at wh2o and 10 cm at red last night. Not much but at least there is wet heavy looking cloud cover hanging around now. I've had enough of this sunshine wasting the snowpack.

Just above freezing in the valley. It was -2 last night at my house an +.5 this morning so I imagine it is snowing on the mountains. Looking at the cloud level, I'd say it is probably snowing just off the valley floor.
