    Magic Kingdom HDV Video 2-24-07

The follwowing 2:40 video is from yesterday in the Magic Kingdom. After deciding to not fight the traffic and crowds jonesing for 23" of undeniably good pow, we decided to head north to the Magic Kingdom. This place is a catchers mitt of lake effect snow in the Wasatch. Often it gets more snow than Alta on favorable NW flows, but don't tell anyone. It's a long approach, but worth it.

This video has little actual skiing footage. That's reality on a high avy danger day when you do more slogging than skiing. But that's not why I tour. I tour because I like to be more or less alone in the mountains. Elitist? Maybe. But that's what I enjoy. The turns are a bonus.

100mb-Windows HDV-No quicktime yet, maybe tomorrow. Best viewed on a fast computer for smooth playback.

Great video, HDV rocks. I can't wait to see more TR/Ski movies start to do their stuff in Hi Def. What kind of camera did you use, and was it shooting in 720 or 1080?

No, because it's our skin track, my dog, and I don't think it makes a shit bit of difference.

Shot in 1080 with FX1, rendered to 720 for bandwidth and processor speed friendly viewing.

I don't think you are elitist because you prefer to earn your turns, and you enjoy solitude. I think you are elitist because I can't play your fancy facking high def movies on my commodore 64ish 'puter.

That's not elitism, that is simple evolution. Learn to walk upright.

Great Vid Trackhead makes me at least partially wish I would gotten an hdv cam instead of my dslr.. but video in mn would just constantly disappoint me.. Thanks for the lack of disappointment

PS: DJ Shadow = Great choice ... His In tune and On Time dvd has given me hours of mental stimulation
