I have them mounted for a 317mm boot, how far can they adjust up and down without having to remount? thanks.

Probably 10mm each way, or so. There's a couple marks on the lower left side of each heel and an arrow. The arrow needs to fall within these marks, with the boot engaged and the forward pressure correct for them to function properly. You just need to try it out to see what works.
