I'm sure you've all heard of BT, pseudonym of producer Brian Transeau. If you're a trance-head you love him, if you're not, you dont. What you may not know is that BT is responsible for more than uber-cheesy club anthems. He wrote and produced soundtracks for "The Fast and the Furious", "Stealth", and "Monster" among others.

His newest project, entitled "This Binary Universe" is a complete departure, more akin to classical music than anything else. Yet this is still an electronic album, only without frenzied beats, repetition, or club cheese. BT seamlessly incorporates live and synthesized instruments into what critics have called an "electronic symphony" and "the first major electronic work of the new Millennium".

The music is complex yet minimalistic, ethereal and strikingly beautiful, Introspective and intelligent.

The CD also comes with a bonus DVD, which plays the album in Dolby 5.1 surround sound with accompanying visuals, creating an amazing sensory experience (baked is good).

I realize that not everyone is going to enjoy this album, but I urge you to give it a shot. It takes a bit of an investment, as the album is best experienced as a whole. Definitely one of my favorites of the past few years
