    help out a magette

so, mtnbikerskierchick wants to hit up a pretty sweet line on Monday with a few friends but her skis are out of commission and it's looking like new ones won't arrive in time. she's too modest to ask but modesty isn't something I'm good at, I'm afraid. anybody in the front range area have something stout in maybe a 170 or 177 that she could rip on for a couple of days? a WP comp for your troubles.

Based on the "telemark Sucks" sticke on her old skis, I'm pretty sure she does not tele.

What year Jak BC's are those????

mbsc is most definitely not taking telemark skis out for a project line.

The weather isn't looking good for any missions at this point anyway.

However, what she really wants is to buy some 170 mantras and sell her BD Verdicts (170?). So anyone with a line on Mantras should pm her, and anyone interested in those skis (~10days, drilled for freerides) should pm her. Gotta have skis you like and trust, right?

True, I used to be one of those "free your heel, free your mind, get left behind" mindset skiers. Now I spend 45% of my time on tele skis.

How do you like those Jaks? I've been ogling the newer BC's for a little while. Seem to be the perfect EC softer day ski.

Still think I'm keeping those. And those things are WAAAY too heavy for mountaineering (which is what I'd imagine she's doing). Seriously.

But I'd be happy to let her borrow my 178 B3s with Naxos (mounted for 317, so your effective mount point would probably be a good centimeter forward of that if you have girly feet). I do have skins for these that have been used once (I suck at the backcountry).

LB: does being used tomorrow count as "unused"?

The Jak BCs are great. They are not very stiff, but they do have a really nice snap to them. Mine are the older ones that are 97 underfoot, as opposed to the newer 90 and 100 choices. I think the 90 could easily be my everyday ski on the east coast and the 100 out here. After a number of hard charging days on them, mine are now a little floppy at speed, so they're now my early season backcountry ski.

Oh you all are so kind! I apreciate the support of the maggot comminity!

At this point, I don't think the weather will be holding for what I would want to ski on Monday.

My problem is that my BD Verdits are alright skis in pow, but not for when conditions get icy/windpacked or even crud. They can't handle high speeds, and they chatter a lot over rough terrain. Plain and simple, they are too soft for they kind of skiing I like to do. I will be selling them as soon as I get a replacement (they are 170 cm)

I miss my Mantras to no end, and I'm looking for a new pair of 170 for backcountry use. I currently have 177 Mantras with an alpine set up, but I think that's longer than I want for backcountry.

Thanks for all your ideas and support! You ALL rock!!!!!!
