sorry Tipp, that 'fresh-frozen' crap is a lousy excuse for tuna. not all ahi grade tuna is fresh frozen and only lazy or low end sushi bars use it. it is much easier to order in a box of frozen tuna rather than dealing with the relationships and trouble to get the goods flown in a few times a week. but seeing that bubblegum pink color in the case is a sure sign for me to go eat somewhere else.

ahi tuna does not freeze well, the problem is that it oxidizes and changes color. to combat this, it is treated with what is euphemistically called 'flavorless smoke'. basically it is gassed with carbon monoxide, this is what causes the unnatural pink color.

so while i am all for Suit using his powers to ban 'fresh-frozen' tuna, i think the thread should only be deleted by the original poster.

Ding! It should always be a deep semi-translucent blood red. That's how you know it's the real deal. Shit just melts in your mouth. Once it goes pink and cloudy it's game over.

Is that a subtle jibe at the lack of objective content in our posts?

Life is just too short and sweet for this kind of drama.

I'd rather focus on improving my Tele turn.

I will admit I have only read to post 25 on this side of the debate. To me this sounds like a privacy issue. I hope we can all respect each others privacy and when we choose to post deep personal things about ourselves and our loved ones I hope that what we post is ours to choose.

Despite of all of your help and support with Mntlion I will not share all of our experiences with his accident, some things will remain private. I for one choose to donate without question of DW's motive. The financial support of Schmoesmith is irrelevant of the sorrow DW was going through.

I will also not read the other thread.

I will not, however demand it be deleted, we are all capable of hitting the "next thread" button ourselves.

I hope we resolve this amicably, mudslinging will be difficult if the temps stay below zero and we little melt and much powder to go ski... wait why don't we all go ski some powder and feel better.

    Abstract:

This thread explores issues as wide-ranging as censorship, cowardice, Basom's awesomeness, Internet detective work, appropriate scripting techniques, elegant use of a thesaurus, spread of gossip, frozen Ahi Tuna, sage wisdom, numerology, proctology, trains from the old days and spudgers, in particular as they relate to traumatic family events.

Weirdly, the best sushi meal I've ever had was at the Cliff Lodge last year, when Buster, Natty and I let the chef "freestyle it." Make that one of the best ANY meals I've ever had. Yum. Ruined me for life.

Arty and I also ate there last year, and also let the chef freestyle it. We also kept him in warm sake all night, which, apparently keeps certain items off of your bill.

Non-conductive wire manipulation tool used in telecom and electronics industries. Apple sometimes calls the simplest one (flat at one end, pencil point at the other)a "black stick". The flat end is used in a twisting motion to get the case apart. A metal flat tip screwdriver will usually scratch/chip the plastic case.

Good runs when you get them.

I didn't post in the other thread because I thought it was weak sauce and I just wanted it to go away. If maggots are capable of all the good things that they do, like raising $ for someone in need, then the optimist in me thinks that we can all just ignore a thread like that and it'll go away. Not that that would ever happen..

I don't think it should get deleted, this site isn't about that. For those of you who want to see that thread go away, I suggest bumping a few of your favorite TR's until the ?'s thread gets buried on the back pages, instead of calling out the suit to do anything.

Until the record was deleted from the books in 2004, this chap actually held the World Record for the Greatest Quantity of Spudgers in the Cornhole (274). The record was withdrawn over accusations of greasing and non-regulation spudger girth.
