    Moto Razor Battery

So I just got a Moto Razor phone.

One of things I don't like about this phone is the battery life. It's horrible.

Anyone else have this phone and did you get a different battery?

    Any suggestions?

    Mine lasts forever? *shrug*
Bad battery, bring the phone to a cell store and get it swapped?

I've had mine for over a year. The battery life sucked when it was brand new and it has only gotten worse, much worse. I can charge it overnight, not make any calls and by noon it's at half.

Oh yeah, this week it started doing something else. When I plug it into the wall charger (the original motorola charger it came with) it says "unauthorized charger" and will not charge. I've resorted to plugging into my computer via usb cable.

    I'm done with motorola phones.

That's why I didn't get it... I just got rid of my new video camera because it was only good for 45 mins max and there was no after-market battery. Target took it back yesterday after two weeks and gave me a full refund. There must be something for the Razor, though...

I had that problem too. The phone is great but the battery life and the poor reception in my area compared to my last phone led me to get rid of my Razor.

My battery lasts forever, UNLESS in an area of bad reception.

I.e. in my office, we have 3 ft. thick stone and concrete walls, and the reception is terrible, usually nil. Here, my battery will only last about 2-3 hours due to the boost in energy trying to find a signal. At home or anywhere else with normal reception, the battery will last 3 days or so with normal usage.

    Poor reception where you are?

I can go for days with out charging it.

No, not at all. Hmmm...well I don't get it. Some are saying "lasts forever". Some are saying "shitty". It seems that I have to charge this phone every other day. I don't even talk that long on it.

I'm going to go to the Sprint store and just bitch, and see if they'll give me an upgraded battery. Is there an upgraded battery you can get?

The guy at the Verizon store said to stay away from the Razor for that exact reason. If the store guy says the battery life is shit, I take their word for it. A friend of mine has the razor as well and has the same problem. I ended up getting the LG phone they were running a special on for the $50 credit every 2 years.

Everyone in my family has one with Verizon. Every other day charge is normal for them. Actually, being in the industry a while ago, that is normal and almost good.

What is the mah on the battery? mah is milliamp hours. In my Treo 700, I have 1800 mah. I charge it every night. But I use my phone a lot as it is also the home phone.

My Moto V710 for work may get thru the day, but the battery is also a year and a half old. I replace cell batteries on my personal phone once a year. They just don't last.

My Razor's battery lasts 2-3 days on a charge. Might want to get a new battery.

However, when I ski with the phone in my pocket, the moisture inside my jacket kills my phone. It's like I dropped it in the lake or something. Buttons don't work, can't place calls. I have to open it all up and let it dry overnight. And yes, my jacket breathes well, and no, I don't sweat like crazy. Pretty stupid that the thing quits at the first hint of humidity.

I had one bad, and one good. Good one lasts about 2-3 days. My bad one had a 3.4 or 3.2V LI my newer one had a 3.6V. Don't know if they are all 3.6V now.

H4B- Have you just tried warming the battery. Mine would die out or say the battery was way low due to the cold. Never had it die cuase of moisture...... except the one that I forgot in my pocket and ran in the washer.

I have the newer battery if anyone wants it. Work ended up making me get a Crackberry so I use that now.

Because of the design of the phone, the battery will not have as long of a life as a regular flip phone (LG 8300, 5300 etc) If you do a lot of talking, you will have to charge it daily, or buy an extended life battery which will make the phone a little bit thicker.
The battery life is definately one complaint of a lot of people who use the razor. I have it, but dont talk a lot during the day and just charge every night when I am at home.

You're a Sprint Customer? Get the Samsung A900 "Blade:"

I love mine - fucking bulletproof and no stupid antenna. Like all Sprint phones if it has to search for a signal it will run out of battery quickly, otherwise mine will last me 2-3 days in standby mode.

Moto RAZR. I hate that fucking phone man. The address book is horrible. The interface is molases. That low battery sound is the bane of my existence. What a steaming piece of crap. Can't wait for the iPhone to save us all.

I just got one last week and have had no problems with the battery life so far. I charged it overnight Sunday and have had it on from 7am to 6pm every day and made about 15-20 min worth of calls and here it is, Thurs morning and I am still showing a full battery.

I've found the same as others with poor reception nuking the battery. My old dorm room had sod all reception, so the battery would drop off a cliff in no time, but once I got home, it was fine again. My new Sony Erricson (which cost me -£10!) works much better...

I like my RAZR, I go days between charges and it's on 24/7.
Go figure, it's only a few months old though.
