After moving to Utah over a month ago, I had been wondering "When is the snow going to fall?" Every day, the weather report was calling for something a few days out, but it never came. I spent all day Friday cruising around on the soft buttery yet weeks old snow wondering where the hell the 3 inches were that had been forecast. Don't get me wrong, the temps and the humidity were providing some excellent "hero turns" type of snow, but there just wasn't any large powder anywhere.
Well, those 3 inches showed up Saturday morning and then some! At least a foot of new snow had fallen and I was there for first tracks. Monday was more of the same! Skiing fresh, untouched powder is everything I had thought it could be! All I could think was "This is why I moved here."
Anyways, these have been the best 4 days I've ever had on snow. So far, I've managed to learn how to ski soft snow, fresh pow and I have even learned how to tomahawk. I won't say I'm a total ripper, but with some more experience I might be on my way. Can't wait to meet some Utards!
Enjoy the little bit of stoke below.
