Sweet. I wonder what happened to Tatsuno? He had one of the top qualifying runs and then one of the best first runs in the final but finished with a 16? Perhaps a fall? I'm pulling for him at Squaw. He's a cool guy and a great skier- one of the better skiers I've ever skied with.

Wow, that is some flat light and firm snow!

Very sweet vid, E. I love how the guys are willing to take chances and get outside their comfort zone.

Tatsuno is the meaning of sickbird. Stomped the FUCK out of that quali air.

Rolled on his line day 2. Cool kid, and will for sure win one of these any day now.

But yeah. Speed. My ehps now have 3 times the amount of rocker they started with.

I can only see the Quali vid and Day 1 results.

Am I missing something or just retarded?

Tats (who I coined the skiing ninja, and he likes that nickname) was the shit in semis, his day will come, very soon. I had my worst run of the year hands down , I pretty much embarressed myself, oh well, I'll do better at snowbird & kirkwood.

Way for me to go, I to go the comp @ Jackson last year where I got to the finals finishing at 23rd, this weekend I was the anchor in the bottom 5 overall something like 65th, looking back it is hard to swallow. I picked a tech line that go chewed to shit (I was one of the last ten to go) and got tossed around crashing a few times. Overall, I'm not too worried about it, just is tough when you can't do one good thing in your entire run.

I am so pumped by my pal Cliff Bennett, got the Toby Lee Sickbird award, I want him to win Snowbird.

Love the vids and looks like a sick comp.
I don't know if its possible or not, but from a spectators and fellow competitors view I know lots of people would be interested in seeing some lines attached to names. You don't have to show the entire line but just the main features hit attached to the winning guy each day. Just #1 would be sweet.
That would be super cool so we know what goes down. Edit the whole vid before the results are released. Get the results and then edit in at the end of the vid the winning guys line from each day.

Just a suggestion that I know I'd love to see...but I recognize it takes time.
Sweet vid and skiing and nice job Z.

    That back flip was insane.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

Great suggestions Athan. I really wanted to do this for both the riders and the spectators, and I had a conversation with several people about trying to get this done, but the consensus was that we needed to get something up on the web ASAP so putting in names would just take far too long to edit in. Putting in the actual name isn't hugely time consuming but we were shooting with three cameras so figuring out who is who on each of our tapes might add a few hours that we didn't have to our edit time.

Since there is such a huge push to get something on the usfreeskiing website ASAP the Squaw edits may be a lot of semi-raw footage put up all day during the comp. This definitely wouldn't allow me to put in names, but it might give me time to do a more thorough highlight reel at the end of the day or the week after the comp that would include names (and tighter editing).

I'm glad to hear you guys like the vids though and would love to hear any suggestions you guys have since the mags are our audience for these.

Altaholic sorry to hear about your run. If you're doing Squaw let me know. Cliff Bennetts entire run ended up making the second day T-ride video. He's the one in yellow that airs the hip and stomps huge off the small rock below it (and then goes for the huge gap in a later cut).

good job, Z! I wish I could've been there. It sounds like the womens field was pretty wide open on day 2 b/c the top 3 fell. Crystal was pretty bummed. She'll be on a podium somewhere this season though.

Didn’t he win the Young Gun award for finishing top-10 at Kirkwood when he was 18 or 19?

Completely understandable. I'm a film production student and understand the insane time consuming nature of these things. I'm super impressed how fast you guys got that out...especially with three cameras.
Some names attached to the top runs at the end of the week would have myself and a lot of other people stoked as can be.
    Keep up the good work.
