Dear Diary- (thought I'd get that out of the way now)

Having been hit hard by "the dream" at a relatively young age ('94 Lillehammer Downhill brought me to skiing, skiing to Colorado, and that's just about all it took for me to realize that the mountains would forever be a sacred part of my life), and having endured over a decade of flatlander life after coming to realize my true passion (in Kansas, nonetheless), it's safe to say that yesterday's interview with a certain Colorado Summer camp meant just a bit to me.

I mean, it has long been my plan to move to Colorado following this Spring's graduation, but the specifics of such a plan were lacking. When explaining my pursuit of "the dream" to non-mags or people removed from the mountains, it usually went something along "well, I'm moving to Colorado to pursue a career as a high school teacher, but before I can attend graduate school and become certified, I have to establish residency, which pretty much gives me the perfect excuse to ski-bum it for a couple of years."

Well, it seems as though the Gods were smiling upon me yesterday, because things are looking REALLY good for me to be blessed with a position at this camp (haven't been officially offered the job, and don't want to jinx it, so...).

Beyond advancing my pursuit of "the dream," this position allows me to share the treasures of Colorado's mountains with kids and teenagers, and pass along some of my passion.

Anyway, sorry for the diary entry, but none of my Kansas friends really understand what this position means to me, and I have a feeling that if anyone could understand why I'm on such a high right now, it'd be this board.

That, and I'd thought that I'd give all of you the heads up that another stoked flatlander is quickly comin' your way to shred your powder! OWWWW!
