    Bump...

So going against all common sense, I found a decent deal on and bought some 193 EHPs. Yeah for overkill. Ice bump zipperline radness, here I come!

No kidding. First ones owned and skied primarily in the east? Getting my ass kicked somewhat at Jay on the 180Pow+ had me thinking that either shorter length with softer flex or longer much much softer flex and/or more sidecut was the way to go. This may or may not hold true. How much do you weigh, skiing those 190 OG Gotamas?

Random dude in Jay tram with '08 190 goats seemed to think I'd be better off with 183s since he weighed like 40 lbs more than me. (I'm 180#)

    6'2", about 180lbs.

I've been skiing the Gotama daily and find it fine for everything but zipperlining. If it gets really firm again I'm sure I'll pull out my G4s.

Were they much softer than the new Gots? There's been enough year-to-year changes on those that it's hard to keep track of.

    Very much softer.

edit - Plus, mine are decambered and dead. The real driver is that I decided I need to start listening to my inner cheerleader and start skiing more aggressively, rather than being lazy.

And with less sidecut apparently. Might be worth looking into skis like that. Thanks for the info! I look forward to hearing how the 193s work out for you.

very interesting about Gots/EHP's I'm also interested to hear how the EHP's work EC style.

For me I figure I've got PE's for early/late season thrashing and groomer/bump/steezy park days, Pow + for the deepness, and my 165 Explosives are lots of fun when you want to run icy EC trees like slalom gates and since they're mounted -1 they'll be ok for 1-4" and they still can hold an edge on EC hardpack.

I could definitely see the 165's Ex's becoming my everyday non pow ski now that there's enough base to ski the trees, but I need something a bit more for the days when I just don't feel like getting worked by the Pow Plus, but need more then the PE or Explosive gives me.
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Exact same situation myself. I'm just going to try to demo until I find a good ski for it. I loved the Pow+ on Weds. at at Magic on Thurs but they took me for a serious ride a few times at Jay. A softer 190 or a stiffer 180ish ski is the answer, I think. And with low camber. Big priority for me. Maybe an older 190 gotama? Hmm.

I was contemplating sacking up and going with a pair of big daddies given how much I liked the Heli Daddies I have from Mntlion, but that seems like an awful lot of ski for out here.

don't lie, you want to join the ice spatulation crew, without having to deal with lugging spats around.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I made a good decision. The EHPs are every bit as good and quick in the trees as the Gotamas, but float better and go faster. I won't be skiing them on beat days, but they'll do for about a 75% replacement.

They're a lot stiffer, but still not an overly stiff ski. I'm not sure what to compare it to... Stiffish tail with a softer tip.
