Thumbs up Bent Gate in Golden

Just dropped by there to get my Peips beacon upgraded to 4.0.
The whole crew was way cool.

No one really *knew* how to do the upgrade, one person had seen it done before, so they used me as a guinea pig to figure it out. Ended up not charging me and sent me on my way nice and happy....well, thats before the cute blonde who works there started throwing pennies at me.

Anyway, Im sure most folks are in the know, but go there when you need something. Good peeps. Theyve got future business coming from me the next time I need something.

    that is all

Yeah Dobish, Jay, Steve and crew are pretty freaking awesome. I have bought both bikes and skis from them as well as mucho other gear. Good folks, great store...

The blonde is cute, but is about as deep as a kiddy pool

Anything deeper and you could prolly drown.

Seconded on Bent Gate - that place is awesome for the front range crowd. Up here, Heather at Wilderness Sports pretty much rules. Blonde and smart.

Yeah, last year after CO Ski & Golf mismounted my 1st AT rig (learned to never have an alpine shop mount AT bindings), I took it over to Bent Gate, and talked with their techs...gave me some good info. After insisting on a new ski from CSG, I had them mount the new boards...works great.

Bought my new Atomics there last month. I really enjoyed my shopping experience with them.

On the Colorado Ski and Golf side, I have had 2 pairs of skis tuned at the SW plaza store, both times, major portions of the edges were not even touched by the ski tech, or shall I say machine they ran them through before placing in the done rack. Simply pathetic IMO.

I will say, Rontele is probably one of our best customers....

Uh... you need some more customers.

I boiled my thermometer, and sure enough, this spot, which purported to be two thousand feet higher than the locality of the hotel, turned out to be nine thousand feet LOWER. Thus the fact was clearly demonstrated that, ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT, THE HIGHER A POINT SEEMS TO BE, THE LOWER IT ACTUALLY IS. Our ascent itself was a great achievement, but this contribution to science was an inconceivably greater matter.

    ah cool

someone walked in the front door when jimmy was helping me out and when he asked what "that" was, pointing to my beacon, I figured the "its a studfinder" comment would have brought you guys out from hiding.

    anyway, good to meet ya!

Bent Gate rules. Except for that closed on Saturday thing threw me off the first time I tried going there on a Saturday, but now that I know... I got my first pair of climbing shoes from Bent Gate when they were in that tiny place accross the street from where they are now. Staff is much friendlier and more helpful than most other shops.

Why aren't they open on Saturdays? Do they want to ensure that their shop employees get to experience that awesome Saturday ski traffic?

I've been told the owner is Jewish, thus Saturday is the day off. Makes sense.
