poo. I was pumped for squaw. Anyone else game for Squaw?

    okbye

EDIT: The above was... IS definitely "soy". Yeah for K-Wood's high base. Can I meet up with the gang at Kirkwood again?

And, the forecast through Friday isn't promising:

    NOAA linky link

Wednesday night: Snow and rain likely in the evening...blahblahblahblah...... Over ridges...gusts up to 90 mph.

Thursday: Snow and rain. blahblahblahblah....with gusts up to 85 mph over ridges
hummm....except for one thing...the winds will be s sw instead of e ne...that makes all the difference...snow will be heavier, and won't be ripped off the moutntain by a 120 mph easterly wind...but I think you should stay home because the skiing will suck

Depending on snow I could be at Squaw but Rose has a higher base.

...WOULD TRANSLATE TO 1-2 FEET OF NEW SNOW OR MORE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA. ...QPF AMOUNTS IN THE 00Z GFS ENDING SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN THE SIERRA IS 3-7 INCHES OF LIQUID. IF THE EVENT IS ALL SNOW THAT WOULD YIELD ROUGHLY 3-6 FEET OF SNOW WHICH WOULD MAINLY OCCUR IN THE HIGHER SIERRA

    Layer Cake Madness.

SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN AROUND 4500 TO 6000 FEET ON
WEDNESDAY AND RISE TO 6000 TO 7500 FEET ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS
WARMER AIR FROM THE SUBTROPICS MOVES INTO THE AREA. SNOW LEVELS WILL
THEN LOWER AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND BUT GENERALLY REMAIN AT OR ABOVE
    5000 FEET OVER THE SIERRA

Hey, I'm down with the 1" water=1' of fresh...white...fluff...but that's just my humble opinion...let'em think 1" of water = 3" of snow...more fresh for me!

More than we got right now?

OK, water has a specific gravity of 1g/cu.cm or 1g/ml at 4 degrees Celsius.
With PV=nRT and PV/T = P'T'/V' at an altitude of 8000 feet (nice number as it's Rose base and 1/2 way up KT), the igneospheric coefficient combined with the relative orificial humidity index of 1.984 kg/dl correlated with a hematocrit of 41, allowing for an average wind speed of 50mph and Bernouelle's effect upon air flow should produce a snowfall of somewhere between 3" and 72" if you allow for standard devation of P .004 +/- Pi divided by the waist of your ski in mm.

You guys can thank me. I arrived in SLC this afternoon. Mike Wilson was on my flight and we agreed that we were going the wrong way. Am wondering if the possibility for snow could change the rumored (or not?) venue. I would hope they would move it to some place a little more exciting if we got 2 feet. Nose to Fingers?

Dude, come on, why the negativity?

    Don't jinx it.

I think this storm will completely miss us or pour rain up to 10,000 feet. It's going ot be a disaster.

    Music to my ears:

SEVERAL FEET OF SNOW POSSIBLE ABOVE 7500 FEET BY SUNDAY
