Gaper on new forum - need advice

A few friends and I have started a new website that hopes to offer local based insight rather than hotel reservations, ticket discounts...

We've been working hard on it and recently added a forum to the site... but have two problems: stats are good but user sign up is slow going (most of the post are made by us) and the first user who we don't know personally is a real gaper. See his first posts here and the most ridiculous one here.

I don't want, in any way, censor anyone but calling Shane McConkey's Pontoons redneck BS gets me fired up.

Any advice on dealing with this joker or on getting users to sign up would really help.

    -John

This forum is your best advice. Censorship = boo. Be happy the guy's coments are brutal. Coments from either the far left or right are what elicit a response. The gray shit in the middle is typically not nearly as entertaining.

P.S..your site is running slooooow. Hitting Google Analytics isn't helping.

I think you are being an over sensitive whiney bitch, spamming for new sign ups.

SMile. yeah maybe his posts will have a silver lining....and I agree censorship just isn't an option.

( removed the analytics but it's probably the small google ad in the footer, which I also took out. Thanks )

no doubt (on both accounts) but I'd rather fix this problem early then have new visitors think it's a flamer board.

I wouldn't worry too much about someone who calls themselves "bmwskier."

    Spam, spam, spam.

But I'll be spamming something soon too, however I won't be trying to pawn it off as something else.

If the guy really bugs you, google him and find out that he's a frat boy at Washington State named Brent Weisberg and call the number listed next to his name and tell him to cut it out.

Hey, thanks guys for the advice....I have a good handle on the rest of the site but forums are new to me.

BlurredElevens, the picture's for you. I know you were rooting for my spam campaign but it failed, no new applicants. Better luck next time
