I never believe the Dweeb, but here is what he says (no way the "super bomb" happens! WTF is that anyway? I like the sound of it though)

LONGER RANGE NOW MORE CONSISTANT WITH A SERIES OF SHORT WAVE TROFS CARVING OUT A LONG WAVE TROF, OFF THE WEST COAST BEGINNING ABOUT THE 20TH......THIS GETS ACCOMPLISHED AS A SURFACE BOMB OR SUPER BOMB OFF THE COAST OF JAPAN THAT REALLY CRANKS UP THE DOWN STREAM RIDGE THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF NEXT WEEK....BY THE 21ST, A COLD STORM LOADED WITH POWDER HEADS INTO MAMMOTH. THE UPPER FLOW LOOKS TO BE VERY CONSOLIDATED DURING THAT PATTERN.

AGAIN....THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 20TH LOOKS PRETTY GOOD FOR YOU POWDER HOUNDS, ESPECIALLY THE SECOND HALF. SO GET THE FAT BOYS READY AND WAXED....MAKE YOUR TENTATIVE PLANS TO PLAY HOOKIE FROM WORK THE 2ND HALF OF NEXT WEEK.....IT MAY BE THE BEST POWDER WEEK OF THE YEAR OR SHOULD I SAY FEBRUARY....AS ACCORDING TO LONGEST RANGE GUIDENCE.....MARCH NOW LOOKS TO ROAR IN LIKE A LION.

OK, I'll ditch the sig line later today. My version of an anti-jinx.

NOAA says .18" moisture so far at the base of Alpine, which probably translates to about 2-3". And the winds are blowing hard enough that nothing higher than Roundhouse is open (i.e., not just Summit, but also Lakeview, Scott, and Sherwood).

I know tahoe is getting this one, the question is how much will tahoe get, and even more important, will those high winds plague us again and wash all the fresh stuff into the drains.

    Ich wunder?

My brother reported an inch on the ground in Colfax at 10:45 this morning and said it was snowing reasonably heavily. Light and cold=fun times.
