Wondering if anyone got out today. Live temps said +5 at Roundhouse, -2 at peak. How's the snow holding up?

looks like its gunna be spring skiing in january this weekend
Yesterday was good.
today was a bit different than yesterday.
the good news was lots of visibility. the bad new is the snow is kind of crusty. most of the crust layer got chopped up by the end of the day and its soft underneath, so it looks good to go. we might see some corn depending how warm it actually gets.
Id be a little concerned about the places the crust hasnt been cut up though. when it refreezes there could be a nasty rain crust with sugar snow beneath. the avie report is warning about wet slabs and cornice fractures during the warming cycle. adjust your outlook from pow skiing to spring skiing and you'll be happy.
Thanks for the info. Anyone have and elev./ aspect info they'd care to share? Right now I'm thinking the way to go is staying high in the morning in the shade (peak, Spankey's), and go way low in the afternoon (Creekside laps?). Report makes it sound like there is a weird isothermal/ inversion layering going on too. The quesion is to bring the park skis and hope for corn, or the big sticks to power through the crust...
How strong is the crust?
