1-23-07 A nice, quiet corner of the Wasatch

Today was another day of wandering. This time with DTM, Gramps, and Tom. We wandered to a quiet, not oft visited part of the Wasatch that has plenty of nice snow, and nobody around.

Tom, on the first turn of the day.

A short skin later, and a nice, different perspective on Broads Fork.

A short jaunt to another little summit.

    SLC, right between your boots.

Dan, enjoying the sun and the views.

Tom, enjoying some oft not skied east facing slopes, in never never land.

    Dan, doing the same.

    And continuing into the trees.

Soon after, we traversed left, leaving 5 more possible turns. Gramps was disgusted, as shown by the brief video clip here.
Gramps letting us have it-12mb-shitty point and shoot vid clip.

One more mini peak along the way, then out.

Very nice, love the view into Broads from there. Wondered if you fellas ended up in that neck this morning.

We found "a little strange" over on Sup this morning. Slow going on the up due to conditions, very late to work Fun, but weird thick powder on a variety of crusts on South facing. Not sloppy seconds in thar either
Beauty of a morning though eh.

Great morning, good crew, good turns. That east shot was

There's also nothing like strolling into work at 3:00 and the first words out of your boss's mouth are "Did you find good snow?

^Even better still when your boss is breaking trail for you (and your dumb friend).

My boss usually says "glad you're not dead" when I come sneaking in the back door in my ski shit. He is not a skier.

5 turns? More like half the fall line if we had played it right. Sweet tour today, nice pictures. I'll have to bring my camera next time. Those runs are short to begin with though, it pains me to stop half way through to take pictures.

Appropriately crotchety attitude from Gramps... but am I the only one that was expecting him to look older than 25?!

Classic response to seeing Gramps for the first time.
