So I've got no jib skills. none. but the other day touring we happened upon a kicker. so the dynafits gave a few 360's a go. So why do I land backseat?:

You're not anticipating your landing. Youre simply throwing it to see what happens. Having the confidence of knowing you can get it around....think STICK IT. You're also dropping your left shoulder a little, which is how you set a corked spin, and is the reason for you being a little sideways in the air. Spin it Sucking your legs up will help too.
If you look at the angle of the booter, your spinning horizontally on it's angle/axis.....not backseat.
Cue dog joke...

Try it on an even smaller jump first. 360's can be landed (especially with dynafits) on a jump where you may only get a foot in the air.
What blurred said, but also, you can see you're leaning back on takeoff, starting your rotation off axis. You maintain the same axis through your rotation and land in the same back-leaning position. Work on a four point takeoff with more of a pop. On that kicker you'll have to lean forward for takeoff.
There's nothing better than sliding down snow, flying through the air
I did my first 360 on such a jump, and stuck it first try.
That was my warm up trick ya douche.
Like said before, you need to be more forward. Sure you can get alot more air when you let your entire ski ride off the jump and milk the tails, but you'll be too far back to stomp any real trick. Be agressively forward even if it feels like you won't be getting alot of pop.
Sick dog gap!!!!!!!!!
Big mountain or Bust.
what blurred said, you had it, you jsut pussed out, you could seriously stomp that if you want
my advice:
1) as ghey as this sounds (NTTAWWT), practice doing 360's in your living room in your shoes. Focus on two things: 1), getting a good vertical pop when you initiate your spin, and 2) being SMOOTH and floating the rotation, do NOT set hard and then huck the rotation around. That's the worst thing you can do. YOu'll end up knocking your entire china collection to the floor. You should need almost no set whatsoever for just a 3 (you will need to set a bit for 720s and beyond tho). Just concentrate on floating them as lightly as possible. Try using the minimum rotation you can possibly get away with to get around, and pay attention to how it feels. Notice that as you try to make a conscious effort to be smooth, you tend to pop harder (vertically, not rotationally).
2) when you're out on the snow, the only two things that matter are: 1), getting a good pop off the lip of the jump and 2) spotting your landing. I've taught a boatload of people to spin, and after they've tried and tried and tried by themselves with no success, I stand in their landing zone just a few degrees beyond their 360 mark and tell them to think of nothing but getting a smooth pop off the lip and then looking for me down on their landing zone. They nail it instantly every time, and totally smoothly. Get a buddy to stand down in your landing zone and tell him to wave his arms when you get around 180. Look for him and you will stick it smooth. If you spin CCW, he should stand slightly skier's left of your fall line. If you spin CW, he should stand slightly skiers right. Since he is off center of your fall line, it will force your head to overrotate a bit but your skis will be lined up nicely with the fall line. Then after you try it a few times with your buddy there to spot, you'll become comfortable spinning and you can tell your buddy to go piss off.

nice stuff BenWa. Haven't done a 3 in a couple of years for fear of the 270 beat down.

My 2 cents:
You are starting the rotation early, while still on the jump. Because of that your rotation is parrallel to the jump, which is backseat when you land. Pop then spin.
And the above is why, this 40 year old with withering minisci, will always be technically a gaper.
link doesn't work
???
buhumpity
already been said but......
you got to 'pop' off the lip of the jump, so as you approach the lip of the jump thrust your hips forward like the hottest chick is spreadin those legs just waiting for you
another thing, you should probably hang onto the dog.
dont prewind for a 3, its a waste of energy, pop, then look over your shoulder, get it down first before you throw a grab in, also, try to keep your hands in front of you, it will keep you more balanced in the air, also, it also keeps you from landing back seat. try it on a bigger jump if you really want to get it down, i say this because with a bigger just you actually are able to practice spotting your landing in the air vs. hucking it and landings where ever
