When my wife and I starting skiing together, I got her into powder skiing. She was immediate skier at the time and talked about really having problems in powder.
Things I told her:
1. Be balanced and relaxed – center of ski, do not lean back or fwd.
2. Let the skis run, do not work too hard.
3. Hand forward and out (part of the balance thing)
I thought anything more than that would be too complicated for someone to remember or work on.
We stuck to easy single diamond terrain. The pitch seems right for allowing her to build some speed without have to worry about going too fast. A couple days of that and she got it. She still fell frequently, but she was hooked and I saw some serious potential in our relationship.![]()
