Mtn Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket

I've been looking at the Mtn Hardwear Compressor PL jacket and I was trying to figure out how warm it was, and what level down fill it would be equivalent too. Anybody have one?

In short ,I'm looking at something to throw on while eating lunch or during an extended break after skinning (in the ADKs or at Tuckerman's for example) and hopefully it's warm enough for camp as well.

I have one. Very warm jacket but certainly not as warm as a full down jacket. I would say it is the equivalent of a thick fleece jacket for warmth. I think the benefit is it's light and can pack down really small. I also like the neck cinch to keep heat from escaping on a windy day. I wear a base layer, thin fleece, compressor pl, and a shell and that keeps me warm on almost any day. I'm 5'8 145 so i certainly don't have any extra fat to keep me warm either. Couldn't say for sure what down it would be since down rating is based on loft not warmth. This jacket with a base and thin fleece will keep me warm down to the teens if it's not windy and i'm inactive. If it's any colder than that and windy, don't expect it to keep you warm by itself. I think it's designed to supplement the layer system not keep you warm alone like a down parka. Werd.
