    Please reccomend hostel in Whistler

Can anyone reccomend a hostel in Whistler, BC? I am looking for clean, quiet, budget accomodation with good public transportation both from the Vancover airport and to the Whistler ski area. The Dweebs are saying no snow in the Sierra till next month....

    Hi,

    I can recommend- http://www.firesidelodge.org/

I stayed there this summer for Mtb. Biking. Super clean. Friendly staff. Big clean kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Big comfy couches next to the huge fireplace. Cool people. Showers. Steam room. Inexpensive. Near the bus stop. Can't say enough good things about that place.

When I was dirtbaggin it and didn't have lots of $ I would stay with Whistler Hi-Hostel on Alta Lake. They usually book very quickly. But the people are cool and if you are going midweek you prolly can at least get a bunk bed. Great pool table/kitchen view/sauna/cool travellers from everywhere. You can take the train from Vancouver right to the Hostel. (I know that the train blasts through there, like right next to the hostel, a few times a day.)

    Just jump off.

UBC Whistler Lodge is the student lodge but they take regular people too. The head mistress frowns on partying after 11pm.

The local hostels were packed before Christmas because fresh worker bees can't find places to live.

There's bus service from the Airport to Whistler and local transit is great. There's hasn't been a passenger train to Whistler for a couple of years now.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

Dweebs? I'm reminded of RSA flame wars!
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!
