I am looking to replace my down the back with snow Ski Pants. I'm looking for a good bib. Looking at the Arcteryx Minuteman, but they are very pricey. Wondering what others out there are wearing, and how they are working?
Thanks.

Columbia Titanium pants and jacket!
Excellent quality for very reasonable prices.
It might not be as hype as TNF, Arcteryx or Helly Hansen but it's great value
I scored I kick ass pair of bibs this year!! Since the wife is pregnant she wanted to wear my old bibs so I got to score some Patagonia Six Chuter bibs. These things are freakin wonderful!! Completely waterproof and very durable. They are usualy 450.00 but I found them on the clearence rack at one of our local shops for 229.00.
someone was selling brand new norrona XCR bibs in gear swap.. dont think you can go wrong with those.
Mountain Hardwear exposure II bibs. Conduit construction. Excellent breathability, totally waterproof. I live in the PNW so waterproof is very important. Light wieght. Articulated knees. CHEAP! $200. Sweet bibs for the price.
Marmot's Randonee bibs are just about perfect. Lots of streach in the suspenders that don't release in hyper-compression events, side opening legs, pockets, gaiters.

Good runs when you get them.
I finally got me my Norrona Lofoten pants this year... They fit great, and have everything I need. Every detail seems thougt over.
pricey but definately worth it!![]()
I thought this thread was going to be about thongs!
Arc'teryx Theta SK bibs when the weather is nasty, really nice but they feel like overkill on some days IMO... so I picked up a pair of cheaper 10k Sessions off SAC that are working out pretty well too.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
Nice er strap?![]()
disturbing

Right now I am in my underpants and socks looking at the internet.
Norrona Lofoten -- amazing.
I personally like XCR a lot for resort skiing. It may not be as good for touring/higher intensity activities...but it keeps the weather out like nothing else.
yep.. thats about it..

I picked up a pair of North Face bibs for $100 at the outlet...luv them.
Skiah for life
I can vouch for the quality & performance of two different bibs.
Resort riding: HellyHansen Verlgas Bib. Bomber. Great cut. Super high bib so I can cartwheel down the hill & not get snow up my back. Khaki steeze. Helly Tech fabric rather than XCR. nice wide suspenders.
Backcountry:
Dead'bird Minuteman Bib. So functional! Cut for free movement. Articulated knees. Not as fitted as the image leads you to believe. Mine are just baggy enough. XCR. Drop seat. Tripple head zipper on side zips so you can vent up, vent down, or zip down to drop trou'. Bigger pockets would be my only request.

and if you're kinda tall and skinny (31" waist, 32" inseam) you can score these on sale (still very expensive) at the outlet: http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/out...teman+bib+mens
fwiw, i wear 30-32" waist jeans and the arcteryx pant I have in med is a bit loose on me. would go small next time
