    PNW/BC mags: where to ski?

Most places have a huge base but it hasn't snowed for awhile. Is any mountain holding up particularly better than the rest? We'll be doing the last week or so of our roadtrip through this area. We skied Bachelor which was cool but crusty as hell.

    Any info is appreciated!

[edit] In Washington [/edit] typically, Baker and Stevens hold the best snow. Alpental is the mostly likley to have ice or crust (but also has the bestest gNArL). But you really shouldn't miss Crustal...

    Where are you now?

It's snowed about 20cms in Whistler this week so far and it's supposed to be puking there right now. They updated the forcast this morning to saw the current system is strong than originally forcast.

Yeah WB should be good again by the weekend as will Interior and Eastern BC. Prime candidates out East would be Red Mtn. WH20, Fernie, Kicking Horse and then LL or SSV. Swing it back down through Montana on the way home.

we're at kicking horse right now (also doing our road trip) and are also in desperate need for some freshies. At the moment the piste conditions at KH are perfect but that is not why we're here. Looking at snowforecast we only see a few cm by the weekend, am I missing something? Revestoke should receive a lot by end of Saturday but they don't have any real resorts close by.

We were thinking of going to big white for the weekend, should that also receive something or would we better stick to fernie/red?

any other options were we would likely find a decent snowfall?
    Because they are there

    Whistler forecast is looking promising.

I'm heading up there with Plakespear tonight and will be skiing some of the Whistler/Van crew for Friday-Sunday.

Powder11 said it's supposed to dump all day today & tonight?

Whistler this past weekend was decent, bluebird, and the snow wasn't soft, but not bullet-proof either. Certainly edge-able, even some pow pockets in the trees. Very nice snow to be found on the right aspects, and the weather looks improving. Rain crust line was at about 1/3 of the way up the second stage of chairlifts, where you don't ski anyways.

Big White is looking like a good bet for decent snow this weekend. They've had 7" so far and it's supposed to snow through Saturday. Super dumpage is unlikely but it'll be nice conditions. It's a pretty mellow hill but huge and the trees are great. Gem Lake is the shit for skiing stashes all day long. I'm giving 2-czech the guided tour this weekend

If you go to Big White I'd like to let you know that the UBC ski and board club will be there, that's 112 more ppl crowding up the liftlines from 8:45 (because we're staying in kelowna and the bus leaves at 8).
But it is safe to assume a lot of the people will be suffering a hangover...

    More freshies for me!

Sweet! I'll be watching the forecast but whistler is sounding better and better. I wanted to go to Vancouver anyways. We're in Portland right now and heading north tomorrow. Let's see what the weather does anyways.
