Just received a new pair of Dynafit Comforts through a group buy. Found what seems to be a quality assurance problem. I'm not sure if the problem is due to Dynafit manufacturing or assemblers or the company that the group buy was organized through. I wanted to present some useful fix info and see if any of you have seen the same problem ... here's the dirt (additional useful info from spats but I'll let him post it if he feels inclined):
The problem centers around the screw housing for the lateral release din setting on the back of the heel post (the big plastic screw).
First off, there was clear evidence of screwdriver marks on the outside of the screw indicating that some one/machine had driven it with excessive force.
Removing the screw revealed cross threading about 4 threads in on the screw housing and blemishes at the start of the threading. The screw its self was fine and its threads were in good shape. This made it nearly impossible to get the screw to start properly and caused a drastic increase in resistance after a few turns.
At first I was worried that some serious warranty drama was about to commence. However, a bit of scraping with a dental tool to re-shape the threads in the housing was all that was needed for an acceptable fit.
Anyone else seen this? Especially those who have received recent group buys?
