So, for those of us who can't stick around for the beaver bashing, any thoughts of a kickoff pahty on the first weekend?

how far away/long of a drive is it from the battered beaver bash (b^3) in south tahoe to squaw valley? i have no idea what the roads are like in those parts. are we dealing with backroads, highways, precarious perched mountain passes, etc?

i'm flying into sfo on the 11th and should be in attendance at b^3 with some friends on the 12th. schweet.

Very far, especially if the roads aren't in good shape.

The B^3 is at KW which is 30-45min south of SLT, then it's another 1+ hours to Squaw.

Does that mean you have housing or need housing? I'm all for splitting a room at a Best Western or something. PM me if you're interested.

    Angry stupid higher education...

Just realized a couple days ago that my GRE exam is right smack in the middle of when I was planning to be in Tahoe.

    $#^%$*(&(*%^^%!!!!!!!!!

I don't think they schedule make-ups for that one.

Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!

Mailbox clean, please resend and I'll put you on the list.

One condo is full based on eight people per unit.
For those who didn't get the layout on the condos -
2 bdrm, each w/baths, another bath w/tub/shower off kitchen, a couple futons or other foldouts in living rooms (which look right onto the hill, best view in Kirkwood), plus floor space.

Eight more and we have the 5th floor, as it's two units per floor.

this is being kicked around for sure....I'm sure there will be something.

Splat -- didn't have time to call today...will call tonight.....but put me in +1 for the condos!!!!

    gotta run.....(again )

oh and EDIT: ACOSTIGA -->> yes, driving from KW directly to Squaw will be quite the drive, especially if its snowy....you might want to check the condo option at least and maybe spend a day at the 'weed...just a thought.

Bad news - kinda. Just got a call from Tammy who rents the units n the Tower out and it's booked already. She's got a three bedroom in Base Camp that sleeps ten for $450 a night.
It's a short stumble from the Beaver. You guys let me know if you mind the change. Tammy said the weekend is booking out fast, so let's get unanimous.

The family and myself will be there the weekend of 12-14. Anyone have any recommendations on a decent place to stay in South Lake?

I'd be down for the condo idea, but I don't think any of y'all want to share a room with my kids, heh.

Motel 6 in South Lake is sorta cheap (~$70/night), and fairly clean. Best Western Timber Cove can have an occasional deal, and is clean. Be careful with some of the small "Mom and Pop" motels, they can be a little less than desireable (one place I stayed in had a shower where the water came out as if someone was spraying me with a power car washer... it hurt like hell!! and I went the next day without a shower).

Definitely up for some first weekend shenanigans. basom, montana mike, some others and I are staying up in North Lake (well, Donner, actually) but will travel. A buddy of mine forwarded me this thing about a giant drinking games tournament Sunday evening, sounds kind of interesting...But I think we'll have enough of a crew to put together a pretty good rager of our own (to say the least). Additionally, and I posted this over in hookups, I'm getting into SFO early Friday afternoon and driving to the 'Hoe, anyone need a ride let me know.

    Oh...Oh so stoked.

Myself + Snowjob in for the condo apres B^3, work schedule pending
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

We now have 18 people - that's two condos at base camp, with room for a few more.

Now, the $ has to be put down this weekend. I'm broke. So, unless we do a Paypal deal (Tammy does not take cc's) someone with the dough needs to lay down $900 and collect later or evberyone needs to pony up now. Any ideas?

    $50/night per person.

Don't be like me and ignore everyone's advice. Avoid Flatstar like the plague. Unless of course you enjoy dodging a gaggle of gapers on one of Tahoe's least interesting mountains.

And enjoy the longest lines I've ever been in. On a few days (weekends), I've litterally taken two runs in the morning and 3 in the afternoon because of the lines and shitty lift system.
