Just pick the house you want. The area also comes with the standard suburban package:

    -A Wal Mart
    -A Best Buy
    -A Circuit City
    -A Ruby Tuesday
    -An AppleBees
    -A PetCo
    -An Olive Garden
    -10 Starbucks
-Schools where all the kids are the same
-Soccor Moms driving in their Land Rovers
    -Drive Thru everything

The above applies to Broomfield also.
If I ever end up living in a suburb like this someone please please please put a bullet in my head.

Not all of both locations are like that either...

But a bunch of it sure is.

    Well.....yes and no.

Of course that pic is a little over dramatized, but suburbs around the country are exactly the same. There is a living area with single familiy homes that look exactly alike (with minor variations) on their cute little culdisacs. Everyone has a SUV parked in the garage with there 2 kids and dog playing in the back yard. Then there is the "mall" area which has the Wal Mart, Best Buy, and Olive Garden with parking spread out everywhere.

    IT'S ALL BORINGLY THE SAME!

Of course new urbanism is expanding into the suburbs, and some areas like Stapleton are popping up, but overall the suburbs are about have your own private little utopia, not walking anywere, and making the long commute into the city for work. It just makes me want to throw up.

    Snow_Slider,
I relocated from Northern VA to the Denver area as well about 8 years ago. Your friends will LOVE the traffic here. You can't go anywhere in NOVA in less than 1 hour anymore, it seems.

I've lived in the South Denver area for the whole 8 years and it is typical suburbia. I work in Parker, and live in Highlands Ranch. Parker is fine, but I like the openspaces and recreation center memberships in Highlands Ranch. Many people make fun of HR, but there are great parks, and schools (not to mention there are newly opened "Backcountry Wilderness Areas" for hiking, mountain biking, etc... Anyway, people bitch about it, I like it.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah I'm originally from NOVA too. Whenever I go back, I nearly fly off the handle anytime I have to drive anywhere. Even going down the street to the grocery store! It's baaaad

The good thing is, if your friends are in the tech. industry at all, both Broomfield and Parker are good choices.
Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.

But seriously, it's tan, with gray highlights.

Only one in the area with solar panels, though.... (really seriously).

PROPS! Sounds like you aren't the typical Highlands Ranch resident.

Seriously though - my advice is: Wait until the job situation is figured out and make the decision based on convenience of commute. But if its a toss up - Broomfield has the best package IMO
