    summit, not sure what your point is, the pulse is 400 on bc.com, your 299 beacon is a different one

    while that's a good price on brand new tech, I'm guessing there's a significant network effect preventing people from shelling out $$$ for this vs. a standard beacon:

    unless i'm misunderstanding the literature, this thing only adds value if your partner or group all have one. until they're wider spread, i doubt they'll be much demand...

    it would seem the technology has changed, much the same as the S1 to its X1 predecessor. the "pulse" or signs of life feature is only a gimmick until someone else has the same beacon. regardless, the basic function seems to work well.

    It's a popular misconception, which is partly the fault of the promotional materials.
    Anyway, the "networking" aspect is only a relatively small part of the beacon's intriguing new features.
