Mounting Fritschi bindings on old Sugar Daddy's with plates

I have some old Sugar Daddy's with the plates on them and want to mount some Fritschi freerides on them. I want to take off the plates and then have them mounted. I have talked to a couple people and gone into a ski shop and they said they can't do it - they say it will split the ski in half, does anyone know if it is possible and if so who can I go to, to get it done?

    Search Jong!

This has been rehashed multiple times. Short answer, with Fritschi's you need some sorta plate (mount anything, cutting boards, etc)

I believe you have to get a special plate/jig thing from Atomic themselves. Thats what Ive been informed by the tech at my shop cause we get a lot of people with Atomics with the plate and want to mount Freerides. You have to get it from Atomic and it can be a bit of a pain in the ass.

You can mount direct. Do a search on mounting Big Daddies, same deal.

    Find new techs!

Actually you are sorta wrong here. The problem is the middle screw of the heal would go right in the channel where there reportedly might not be enough material...

You can mount Soli's direct, but not fritschi's. Maybe you should search.

I got some mount what you want plates for sale $25 obo.

I've also got some big daddies mounted with freerides without plates. You just have to grind down the third screw that goes into the middle and glue a piecve of plastic or something to act as a spacer in the little groove.

It can be done! Just like you can mount P-18's on fat skis, even though I've had techs tell me you can't.

I can't find the original thread I started on Powmag four years ago.

This one has the best info for the lady:
