    Exclamation FOBP Field Sessions POSTPONED

    Dear Friends,

Based on current weather forecasts and a consensus among our facilitators,
we feel it's prudent at this time to postpone this weekend’s FOBP on-snow
    field sessions.

Our main concern is the safety of our participants and we feel that the risk
of frostbite is significant this weekend. Temperatures are expected to
plummet through Sunday, with highs in the single digits and potentially
    hazardous wind chill factors.

We are arranging new dates in January and you can expect to hear from us
again by Monday, Jan. 15 with more on this.

Our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this might cause. Please feel
free to contact us with any questions or concerns at fobp_info@yahoo.com

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Greetings FOBP,

I agree wholeheartedly. Looking at the forecast the Arctic subzero air looks like it will dig deeper back into the front range this weekend.

For the students (especially backcountry newbie's) will not learn much about avalanche safety, while they are freezing their asses off. Its one thing to have an avalanche course at a ski area, where you can retire to a warm patrol HQ under these conditions. And instructors, would have to pay more attention to the care and safety of their students, then teaching avalanche subject matter.

I think postponing this weekends FOBP field courses is a VERY good idea.

    Cheers,
    Halsted Morris
