    Crystal Worth It This Saturday?

Alright, I'm lame (and a Crystal jong) and can't figure this out for myself so am looking for opinions.

The wife has time to ski this weekend and I'm trying to find the best conditions so she has a halfway decent time. Snoqualmie sounds slayed and crusty (maybe Hyak since it's been closed all week?). Is Crystal going to be worth the drive and the cost of tix? I realize the sb will be powless, but will it still be decent? How far of a hike is it to get out there?

I prefer gold lame'. Jumpsuits. With nipple tassles.

Crystal will be a shitshow for sure, crowded and manic. But the sb will not be powless. Cut with swatches of sweet, likely, but not powless. The hike is hard to measure in distance given the traversing. If you count the traversing, it's probably about 2/3 to 3/4 of a mile with about 1/3 of a mile of booting. (these are estimates from one with a distrorted sense of time and reality).
If you're in shape, the hike to the top of the King is about 20 minutes. Twice that for flabby deskjockeys.

There is close to six feet of pow as of today when they opened the gate.
If you have to ask how long the bootpack is, it's probably not worth it.

Thanks for the info, sounds like it will be worth it.

Feel free to dismount off your high horse, I can hold my own when it comes to hiking for my turns. I'm just asking for my wife's sake, she rips but her legs are a twee bit out of shape due to putting in 70 hours weeks as a resident.

I'll be heading out to the backcountry south of the southback tomorrow. I have a pass so I'll just ski out from the south face of silverking but if you don't have a pass, Crystal offers a one ride backcountry ticket up quicksilver lift for $10. It's a 30 min skin to get into the Morse Creek drainage from there. PM me if anyone wants to tag along.

I did not know about this. Good to know, as I don't have a pass.

Sick pics! Does anyone know who said ripper is wearing the pink f-bag? Also, where is that cliff band?

Today was one of those days I wish I didn't have a job.
Ohhhh, man I wish I could go back in time. I'd take state.

Out for at least a week....

Is that pic from the back side of the throne?

So, went up today. Overall, a pretty good day except that I got a concussion putting a knee to my face in Northback. Not super sure what happened. Just skiing off of Niagras, not going super fast, just pop[ed between two trees and got bucked foward somehow. Face went right into my knee. Bloody nose, seeing star, concussion. Put my knee right under my right check bone. Luckily didnt break my helmet or my goggles, didn't lose any teeth, and didn't have a seizure (I have a history of having grand mal seizures following concussions). Took me sometime to make it down thru the trees and out of Northback. Ho Chi Man sucked....threw up in the middle of it. Got to patrol, who cleaned me up and made me chill for awhile. I think I am out for at least a week, maybe a bit longer. My head is killing me now. Going to go and get an X-ray at Urgent care in the morning just to double check I didn't break anything in my face.....fullface/mouth guard would have been nice today.

Anyway, both South and North Back are still in pretty good shape. Because the snow is so light it is easy and fun to ski even when it is chopped up. Since I was solo I didn't stop to take many pictures, but here are a few from today. Only stopped to take pics on my first run out to Southback, after that it wasn't really worth it.

Overall, a pretty fun day besides my knee to face meeting. Hope everything goes well tomorrow morning and I can be out there in a week or two.
