website say south back will open tomorrow. Will someone please go up there and beg management to delay opening until Saturday so I can still get some.
Great to meet and run into you and Uncle Rico. It's always better to share a good pow day with people.
Oh, I almost forgot, just like Will said, today did not suck![]()

From A hike up the throne chutes, to multiple NB lines there is no way today could suck.
Btw: knee to thigh deep fluff allover the mountain.
I bet it wasn't nearly as fun as writing two reports, returning phone calls and spending a few hours in a public hearing.
Glad you guys had fun.
I'm sorry. I'd love to feed your need for instant gratification, especially while the memories are fresh, but I'm so tired right now that I'm going to bed. 5AM comes early. And I still roll with an antiquated film camera so don't even know if any of the pics I took came out.
Suffice to say for now that we lapped the goodness of North multiple times, hit Campbell bowl for a couple runs then went back to North which is when my legs gave out. The Uncle and Slasher made at least one more North run. I'll spell out the details tomorrow when eyes aren't burning from fatigue.

Heh, undertandable.
After seeing how much of NB was untouched on our last run of the day yesterday, I've got a pretty good feeling of how your day was today. Glad you guys got it! Hope some of you can get up for SB tomorrow, I'm out for the weekend, enjoy!

Indeed, today was f'in sweet! Great times with Chainsaw and Slasher, good to meet you guys. Drive up from Seattle was sketchy at times but we still managed to pull 3rd chair out of the base.
Ended up with 8 Northback runs, but who's counting. First one off the top of Northway was insane, with several follow-ups on various lines in Spook, Morning Glory, Bruce's (I think that's the name) etc.
Northway, I think yours were the only tracks in Northback this morning - unbelievable how untouched it was in there, every lap was deep, fresh and full-on cold smoke, blower etc etc (9 deg F this morning).
There was a strange rumor that S-back was opening at 2:00 PM today, actually heard it straight from the Patrol - they said that the website was wrong and there was some marketing screw up. We got psyched and positioned ourselves for the opening, then heard that it was a no go. Dropped the throne instead for some more goodness.
Anybody that can make it tomorrow is in for a sweet S-back session - control work is done so they should be opening it first thing...get some. Unfortunately for me, work calls.
My camera was on the fritz due to the cold, so I only managed one picture - this is pretty much the story all day long. Look closely and you'll see Chainsaw rippin with a wake of coldsmoke on his tails...never posted a photo here, so we'll see if this works. I think backcountry will be the call this weekend.
Ohhhh, man I wish I could go back in time. I'd take state.
