mid-march might work for me but I'll be in the Alpe d'Huez region at the end of March

Might be in for this... funds/time permitting.
I think AirBerlin flies from London to Zurich, and they are rather cheap. Then it's just a few trainrides to Engelberg (get to Zurich Hbf, then to Lucern and then to Eberg).
http://www.familienherberge.ch/ is a cheap and nice option for housing.
Last year was fun and deep (though I was a bit late to the party... But then again my timing was spot on, ~over 50cm of fresh fell during my night of travel).

Tell me about it... I'm doing my MSc. thesis at the same time, but figured I need a break from it after busting my ass doing it for roughly 3 month already.
Granted a PhD is going to be much more work, but mebbe you can persuade Roo to visit beatiful Norway in the end of May or Beginning of March... Stryn summerski resort is opening at around then.

But I suck at this skiing thing and have broken bindings, so no real need to ski with me.
Beer will be good though.

Well bad news everybody... Unless a mirracle happens, I won't be able to make it there... Spent a few hours skiing at the local molehill and blew up my knee...
Seeing the doc on friday and will know more after...

Oh well, such is life...
Atleast I still have a change of hitting Stryn, and time to write about a dozen or so TR's from the lest year or so.
