Finding Read only files

I'm using windoze xp.

Is there someway I can find a pile of read only files and change them en mass to non read only files?

I have a pile of musac that I want to stick in my ipod but I want them auto sorted. However I can not change the genre listed on the RO files.

Is it possible?

do a search for *.mp3
select all files
right click
properties
uncheck read only (it might be 50% grayed in)
click ok
done
