Don't know if anyone here really cares but I just got back from Lake Placid where I learned that as per the 5 year plan granted by the Adirondak park agency whiteface will be putting in a new lift to the right of the slides, cutting 4-6 new trails plus all the hidden stuff thats already there and adding snowmaking to the slides. The person I heard this from CLAIMED to be in charge of the installation of this project and I think I remember hearing something about expansion over into that area but I don't know if it actually was approved or not. Anyone confirm or deny this?

Nothing on Whiteface or ORDA's websites. But if this is true, that would be sweet. The place could use some new trails- they've got to have the lowest acreage/vertical feet ratio of any ski area in the US.

I had actually heard a rumor about that from a guy at work, but I can't really call that confirmation. I hope it goes through though.
