    Kootenai Falls/Super Wave in Winter

i know, i know. it's time to ski and that's all i've been doing but i'm coming down to the lower 48 for a while and will be in Libby from February through middle of June for a rotation for medical school. if I get tired of skiing turner and don't feel like driving up to Fernie is the wave in right now? the falls? i love big water. looks like it's at 13200 right now on the USGS guage. should be a good level for big air play right?? thanks in advance for the help!!

I have the Montana surf guidebook (Montana paddler must have) and it says anything over 12000 cfs the wave is fast and rowdy.

I've never been on it but have looked at that section a few times and have decided against putting on.

good luck in Libby, it's a nice place I worked for an internet providor that set up high speed wireless in Libby before DSL hit the market. Montanaskynet is the best ISP

hey thanks for that info. i need to get that book i reckon. i met matt wilson in chile around the time they were working on that. cool stuff. what does it say about the falls and wave when it down around 5000? looking at historic averages on the USGS site it sounds like that's more like what i can expect to find during a lot of the winter. thanks again for the help!

and gripen: i'm working with greg rice. yep, i know about the reputation of that place for social life and am a little nervous about it but i think i'll see some good medicine and will get in a lot of good skiing/boating.
