3rd drill on havocs . . . should i err forward or back?

so i got a pair of 183 bd havocs from el chupanabre, and they have been mounted twice for fritschis.

i'd now like to put some naxo's on them, and in order to keep the holes from the heelpiece a safe distance from previous drillings, i need to mount either about 2.5 cm back or 3cm forward of the line. has anybody skied havocs w/ a forward or back mount and can comment on which of these (unfortunately sub-optimal) options will be best?

whats wrong with just using the fritschis?

granted everyone has their favorite for various reasons, but its still a decent binding...plus you wont have to add another set of holes in a shitty spot.
Another option might be to drill the heel holes and heli-coil them as the larger diameter holes may completely remove the previous holes.

Pechel- the Fritschi's that were mounted on them went to you (BTW I've been skiing those Bro's for the last 2 weeks since Marshal mounted them up for me, there a dream, and the Epoxy's holding up pretty darn well.)

Ninja- If you can't source some Freerides I'd mount them further back. While trying to reuse the holes through helicoiling would be ideal, to me the mount always felt a bit too far forward anyways. Also I figure they are soft enough that you can drive the shovel still pretty easy enough from 2.5 back and it will probably make them a bit more fun to ski in powder. Good luck, I loved those skis when I had them, superlight and playful in the pow and was just as pissed off when I pulled the freerides to see that they were mounted a second time.

    pechelman -
that's a great idea, i'll have to give it a try. i'm not that familiar w/ the procedure for putting the heli-coils in . . . is it something i can do myself if i order a few from tognar.com, or is it something i'll need a shop to do?

chupanabre - thx again for the hookup on the skis. i can't wait to get them out on the snow. if heli doesn't work out i'll take your advice and mount them back

It's not too hard, but definatly a pain to do so if you got a shop that you can pay in beer thats probably the best route.
