Got a new (to me) pair on the way, mounting them with Freerides, salomon xwave boots. I'm 6', 175#, like long walks on the beach and sushi, and plan on using them for just about every Colorado condition. Where should I mount them?![]()

I've got mine mounted right on the center of the big mountain/free ride line. (Mine are last seasons model with the army green top sheet.) Though some folks like them mounted a bit forward (1CM). I find that mounted on the free ride line that the tips come up to the surface very easily in powder. Sometimes I find myself leaning a bit forward to keep the tip engaged in powder. I have had no issues with tip dive but I also don't go maching down the big bowls or straight lining the chutes either. I'm 6' and 160lbs.
Here's a thread with some mounting discussions.

Mind are mounted at the freeride mount(scratch 14's) and I wouldn't change them. Dont know what its like 1cm off but I have zero complaints on mind the way they are. Hit about 60 days on them last year about 20 this year. 5'11'' 150.
I like to keep my turns to a minimum(>speed) so I dont tire my skinny ass out. Go with the midmount and point'm, you will be pleased. I'm out like trout.![]()
My skis have a "park/pipe" line, a "big mountain" line, a range between them, and a mark on the sidewall.
Can you guys clarify your nomenclature so I'm in the same spot?
homerjay,
Mine are mounted at the big mountain line. Hope this helps. (Tyrolia railflex bindings.)

Mind are mounted on the sidewall mark.
