Missing Skier! — Colorado Front Range

Missing Skier! — Colorado Front Range

Trish Lehman went for a backcountry tour on Christmas Day (Dec. 25, 2006) and hasn’t been heard from since. She did not tell anyone where she was going, other than she was going out to ski. Her car has not been found. The most likely place she was headed was Cameron Pass area or Brainerd Lake area. (Other likely possibilities include Nordic trails around Frisco and Rocky Mountain National Park.)
Trish is about 5’ 5” and weighs about ~125 lbs.

Please forward this link to anyone you know who was in the Front Range on Christmas day.

    See pictures…

    Car: 1999 Black Honda CRV

Coat: brown and black North Face shell or a Blue Patagonia Fleece

    Pants: black Marmot soft-shell pants.

    Pack: Light-blue Sherpani

Skis: probably Fischer backcountry with NNN BC bindings –also might have had K2 She’s Piste with Silver T3 boots.

If you saw Trish or her car on Christmas Day, please contact Steve Lehman 970-420-7745 (smlehman@gmail.com) or Detective Melissa Merkle of the Longmont Police Department 303-651-8555

I hate to sound like an ass, but this shows that you should always explain where you are going to somebody. Remember that everyone.

I hope they find her, and I hope shes ok.

Yeah, you sound like an ass. Why don't you shut the fuck up and go offer advice somewhere else.

Damn. I was up at Cameron Pass on the 27th and I'm pretty sure I saw her vehicle in the parking lot. Only ran into male backcountry skiers that day. No evidence of any slides around the area. I really hope she is alright.

Why did she head out alone on Christmas day?

Oh man, I hope this turns out OK. This is the kind of thing that tugs at my gut. Julie heads out solo frequently with skating or XC gear.

    Many vibes for Trish+++++
We spent New Years eve and day up on Cameron playing on some of the XC trails and only ran in a single couple up there.

Thats a real bummer. I wonder WTF happened?!? My thoughts to her friends and family. RIP. I really want to know what happened. Maybe she died of natural causes (i.e. heart attack or stroke while XC). Thats a real bummer. I go out all the time by myself. I obviously stay away from anything remotely dangerous when alone but there is no reason why someone can't go alone on a XC trail SheRa. Not every outing is a feat of mountaineering. There are tons of places one can safely go alone. However, this is an unfortunate reminder to all of us that we should always tell somebody where we are going.

A real bummer, at least friends and family will have closure.

I can't count the number of times I've x/c'ed alone, it is a real pleasure having the solitude, but shit does happen.

Hope there was no foul play, et cetera. RIP

    Unhappy

Very sad and sobering...many prayers to those who loved her.
