Backcountry vs. Non BC Figured Out!!!

Since the term "backcountry" is being way over used around here, I put some of Sir Jongy's brainpower into defining categories of non-quite backcountry up to real backcountry.

It goes from farthest from backcountry to the real deal.

    - Backyard Country - like my backyard. You could get injured but a simple senior monitoring system or your neighbor could get help your way - "Help -I've fallen and I cant get up!!!"

    - Jib Country - Like that rad gap or kicker you build 100' off the road. Dont get run over by traffic after that 1st steezy 720!!

    - Road Country - You like just strap it on on the road and ski right back to the road. L-land, Berthoud, etc have some of these shots brah.

    - Sled Country - you access it by the sled - cause come on dude you aint really working for it - at least the approach. Jonser's pass, Buffalo Pass, Vail Pass can all be had this way.

    - Side Country - like you leave a gate from the ski area. Dude like the so rad Beavers

    - Slack Country - like a hike, but not really very far maybe to 60 minutes hike. It may seem like backcountry if its untouched faceshot powder - but its too easily available to the jonging public. Diamond Peaks and the rest of Loveland Pass and Berthoud. Might even get some leverage like a car at the bottom to take you back to the top.

    - Skin/Up Country - you hike or skin up and then back down. Like Utah has a few acres of mostly Skin/Up Country but not real backcountry - too easy and too close brooooooheeeeeeeimm!! Maybe up to 2-3 hours out

    - Cross Country - you ski a long ways, but don't get a descent total of more than 1000' - not enough glisse to be the real deal - thats only Cross Country.

    - Back Country!!! - you made it - you tour in for at least 3 hours - dont see anyone else - and slay it proper and you're in the back country dude!

    - Extreme Country - add the extra danger factor with death fall potential, 50' or larger cliffs, and you can call it Extreme Country.

I proposed this to this hot, cool skier chick in Breck whose pants I'm trying to get into and she bitch slapped me - and said - "You stupid Jong - stop with the cock measuring and just be real"

    Beeeeyottch!!

Edited because I'm a grumpy fuck this morning and I wish I was in any of the above rather than my office.

I'm with the hot skier chick as well. Shut up and ski, nobody really cares where or how.
Try to keep two ideas in your head at the same time without blowing your brains out your ass.

    Dudes and Dudette's!!!!

Study up - we need to get our nomoclature right in our TRs.

BTW my buxom Breckita apologized for the slap, kissed my cheek and asked me to her pad for a nitecap. Of course I said no cause I didnt want to come on too strong - but sooner or later I'm gonna score when things are more perfect for the kill.

    Come on folks,

I've been noticing lots of incorrect use of our terminology.

For example Sidecountry only refers to terrain accessed directly from a ski area lift.

I'm totally on board with this Sir.

Sounds quite reasonable and very well defined.
