2007 Big Daddy
I couldn't wait any longer. So I broke them out yesterday at Vail. There was still some very good snow left over from Wednesday's storm.
First off, the ski's are huge. I hit Upper Snag for their maiden voyage. It's a short run, but always has great snow. before I knew it I was on the cat track. I took me a while to get over the "holy shit these are fast.". At first they reminded me of the first time I skied my 207 P20's. they had the feeling that you had to achieve a fairly high rate of speed to get them on edge. The 41m radius is a no BS assessment of how these skis are on groomers. You aren't coming out of your turn until the ski is good and goddamned ready. On all the crud and pow runs these skis absolutely owned it. The absolutely mashed everything in their path. Even at the end of the day they kept surprising me with the amount of speed I was carrying through the crud and pow.
The closest thing I can equate these skis to is when I've driven the Ford GT. There is a definite feeling that you are just along for the ride. You really just need to let the ski do what it is built to do.
The ski exceeded everything I'd heard/hoped for.
in closing I'd like to thank the esteemed M. Olson for hooking me up with the Ninja 916's.
