    Naxo mounting in Seattle

Just recently moved to Seattle and am still in the dark in the local scene.... Anyone had experience with a local Seattle shop and nx21s? I know a few shops sell em (Alpine Hut, REI, Pro Ski, Evogear, etc), but I'd like to hear the collective maggot wisdom on who can do a good mounting job [insert obligatory "your mom mounts just fine..." crack here]. Appreciate the advice, and feel free to send a few jongs my way while you're at it.

I know that sturtevants has a naxo jig and at least one tech who is more than competent in mounting them.

I would jong you but even at almost 170 posts most people here still consider me a jong

Feathered Friends, right next to the downtown REI, sells them and has helped me with warranty replacement. I'm guessing they would do adequate job mounting.

I'm new to the Tacoma area. Anyone know of a shop that can mount Naxo's down there?

I'd trust Gerk's Alpine Hut in Redmond to mount just about anything for me. A real small shop. Everyone there knows what they are doing. When they have not had an appropriate jig (either due to fat ski-ness or a binding I dragged in), they've done perfect jobs freehand. If you have a need/want & tell them what you want they can make it happen. They tend not to trust marks on graphics, etc... They may not do it uber-cheap, but I've always found them to be fair. And I know one of the guys there just did Naxos for himself...

they should come with a paper jig. any shop with a drill can do it. if you didnt get a paper jig, have bca fax one to your shop. its pretty easy to do.

Pro Ski is probably a good choice. These guys are really all about touring, so should know how to work with AT gear. The address is 8954 Aurora N. It's easy to miss. Drive north on Aurora to 90th Street and turn right. Take the first right into their (shared) parking lot, which has about two spots.

Martin Volken owns the shop and he's pretty much the guy when it comes to touring in the Cascades.

Second (3rd? 4th?) the motion on Pro Ski if you're near Seattle or North Bend (Greenwater Skis if you're headed for Crystal).
I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.
